A Nice Day

I had a lovely day today cropping with friends and apart from running out of tea bags we had a great day lol. I didn't really do any cropping as I was busy sorting out my PTI stash and glittering up a fairy wallhanger that I bought for my craft room. I saw it in my local florists and when I read the saying I thought I just have to have that - it is just sooooo me.

I've been busy tonight cooking dinner and preparing Laura's stuff for her signing competition tomorrow. We have to pick up some of the other girls at 7.45am so there won't be any time to do it tomorrow. It's being held at the SAS Radisson in Glasgow and we will probably be there all day so I'll need to be prepared with lots of food and drink to see us through.

I'm now going to have some ME time and do a bit of blogsurfing.

Till tomorrow.

Poor Jim

After an endless round of Doctors, hospitals and specialists we are no nearer to finding a solution to Jim's illness. He did seem to be making some progress in the latter part of last year but has steadily got worse again. The pain in his leg is causing him real problems with walking and standing and he is still having severe headaches on a daily basis. No one really seems to know what has happened to him or how to solve it and he is quite frustrated with everything. He is desperate to get back to work but he is just not fit enough.

At the weekend, I popped into 02 to change my phone. I am now the proud owner of a Blackberry Torch which is a bit fancier than my old Blackberry. Let's hope that I can find out how to work it.

Tonight Laura and I "performed" at a concert with our Signing group (Signs & Wonders). I'm sure I must be the "wonder" bit of the group as I'm sure people must be "wondering" what that old woman is doing up on stage trying to do sign language to music lol :) I'm learning as we go along but it is much more difficult than it looks. The group had eight songs to perform but I was only involved in five and that was more than enough to concentrate on. When the younger girls do it, it is sooooo beautiful to watch. Anyway I don't care what anyone may think, I enjoy it and Laura and I have a laugh about her daft mothers mistakes. I am so past being worried about what people think anyway that I really don't care.

I had actually double booked myself tonight as I had also arranged to go to the cinema with my friends Cathy and Agnieska. We had planned to see The King's Speech but I had to pull out when I remembered I had something else on (call it a senior moment) however, I'm hoping to go later this week with another friend.

Later peeps.

What a Night!

I've just got home from work after battling torrential rain and winds and I am thankful to be home safely. Several trees have been blown down locally and it is definitely not a night to be out. So I am sitting here all cosy in front of the fire with my slippers on and have no plans to go anywhere.

I have been re-arranging my craft room this week so that I can crop a bit more at home since it it still dark in the evenings. It is still in a state of disarray but I'm working on it lol.

PTI Bloghop

Thanks to everyone who commented on Jacob's card. I really enjoyed participating in the PTI bloghop and I hope to visit some more blogs soon. It is fantastic fun to check out everyone's blog and see just how creative they are.
Coming to a layout soon is this photograph as it is one of my favourites. It was taken on our recent holiday on the island of St. Lucia and you can clearly see the twin peaks (the Pitons) in the background.

Catch ya later.

PTI Bloghop

I thought I would take part in this month's PTI Bloghop. The challenge was to use an old (I prefer the term vintage lol) stamp set and share it on your blog. This card was made using Baby Button Bits and was twinkled up using irridescent glamour dust. I hope you like it as much as Jacob's mum and dad did.

I'm eagerly awaiting my January supplies from PTI and can't wait to try out some of the new dies. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't been doing much crafting recently due to holidays and work committments but I promise to get back on track soon.

Later gaters.

Thank Goodness .................

Molly playing in the snow

the week is over. I don't think I've ever worked so hard in my life lol. I'm looking forward to some R & R with the girls tomorrow. Not that I've even printed out a photo yet but I will have to get a move on.

When we were in the Carribean, our little dog Molly went for a holiday too. She stayed with a lovely elderly couple called Ron and Cath and they completely spoiled her. They were so sorry to see her go home because she is such a character. She loves playing in the snow and she ran circles round them in the garden when they were trying to get her in. I had forgotten to tell them that all they had to do was rattle the biscuit tin or shout the word biscuit and she would come running lol. They were so kind we hope that they will look after her for us again sometime.
I had my hair cut this afternoon and I asked Julie (my hairdresser for many years) not too cut it too short. She obviously wasn't listening or she just got a bit snip happy cos I think it is much shorter than it normally is. It's just as well that my hair grows quickly because we are going to the Aggreko Annual Dinner Dance in a couple of weeks and I don't want to be bald. Because Jim gets tired very easily I decided that we should stay the night so that he can go and lie down if he needs to and we won't have to worry about getting home.
I'm off now to get some beauty sleep.
Catch ya later.

Another Busy Day

Port of St Lucia

of meetings, meetings about meetings and interviews WAHH!!! I'm glad to be home and in my jammies at last. I had intended to do some housework tonight but I'm just too tired. Still there is always tomorrow lol.
Today's photo was taken on my 50th birthday in St Lucia. This is a view of the port from a hilltop viewpoint. Our ship is the one on the right hand side.
Till tomorrow.

Who is that chilled out woman beneath the palm tree?

YES ............ it's meeeeeeeeeeeee. Feeling very mellow and chilled whilst visiting Nelson's Dockyard. I think the feeling lasted until about 2 hours after I got back to work and then it was gone lol. I've been very busy at work with a lot of recruitment going on as well as training courses to be delivered. I know I work well under pressure but it is a bit hectic even for me. Not to worry though I'll back doing it all again tomorrow.
Till then.

More holiday snaps

The steel band that welcomed us to the island of Antigua

Here is a picture of Jim at the port. Due to his ongoing illness this was the first day he had felt able to get off the ship and take a look around. He just managed a short walk up the main street and then we had a drink in a bar and walked back to the ship and then he had to go and lie down. Although it was only a brief visit we both enjoyed the time together. Laura had decided she would stay on board in the Teen Centre so we were child free for a while.

A Tour of Carribean Princess

I couldn't resist taking a photo of this display of gingerbread houses in the main piazza on board ship. The detail on each little house was amazing and it must have taken the chefs hours to make them.

This photo is of the glass lifts in the main piazza. If you look really closely you can see that the outside of the lift is all carved sea creatures. Every time I look at it I can see something else I didn't notice before.

This photo was taken on the Deck 15 (the Lido Deck) and you can just see Jim and Laura in the jacuzzi on the left hand side. It was fab to be able to lie and watch movies and they even had a cart making fresh popcorn - absolute bliss!
I hope you are not bored yet as I have lots more photos to share.
Till later.

Happy New Year

Carribean Princess

Yeah I know it has taken me until halfway through January but better late than never lol. We got back from holiday last Sunday and the week has just flown by. Work is very busy at the moment but I'm told I work well under pressure so here's hoping. I'm still trying to catch up on my washing and ironing after our holiday. The weather here has been very wet so drying clothes has been a bit of a challenge but I think I'm getting there

I had a bit of a clearout at the shop yesterday and managed to fill 6 bin bags of catalogues, scrap paper and general rubbish but I've still got more to do. We are having a 12 hour crop next week and I'm looking forward to doing some crafting but I will need to get my finger out and get my photographs printed pronto. In the meantime, I have posted a photo of the ship to whet your appetite.

Till tomorrow.
