The Doctor has confirmed that poor Jim has had a stroke. Happily there doesn't seem to be any damage to his speech and mobility and that seems to have recovered. He was allowed out of hospital yesterday afternoon with strict instructions to take it easy and a zillion different tablets to take. He will not be allowed to drive for the next three months and has to attend the hospital as an outpatient next week for more tests and blood pressure monitoring. I checked his BP this morning and it was still quite high but better than it has been. I got a lecture from the nurse about what he can and can't eat and I was a bit miffed at the time because she was going on and on about not frying food etc and I actually grill almost everything in fact my George Foreman grill is used all the time. As a family we are probably guilty of eating too much butter and cakes so that will have to stop and I've already been out and stocked up on low fat spread, porridge, fruit and vegetables so the new regime has started.
Till later.

Emergency Ward 10
Do any of you remember that show? I can remember is from my childhood (and that wasn't yesterday LOL). Anyway my life has been a bit like that since Saturday when Jim took ill. He hadn't been feeling too well most of last week and he became really unwell while working in the shop on Saturday morning. Luckily one of the ladies in the shop (Eileen) was able to drive him to the local hospital and another (Ruth) followed in her own car and waited with him until I was able to get there. The first diagnosis was that he had had a hemiplegic migraine and the symptoms are very similar to a stroke so it was a very scary experience. He is still in hospital and has had a scan and other tests done today but his blood pressure is still high and it needs to be brought down before he gets out. Fingers crossed that everything will be okay and he will get out soon.

Skinny Minnie (well not quite!)
I took Laura and her friend Sophie into Glasgow with me tonight to pick up a couple of new suits I had ordered from Slaters. I've lost so much weight my suits were all falling off me so it was time to get some that actually fit me LOL. The girls were having a ball scoffing chocolates and drinking hot chocolate while I tried on my new togs. On the way home we stopped off at TGI Fridays for a quick bite to eat which was a nice change from cooking.
I still haven't found my camera and I can't think where it is. Maybe I overdid the spring cleaning thing LOL.
Till tomorrow.

Spring Cleaning
I seem to have gone a bit nuts (must be because we have had two days sunshine in a row LOL). I've been doing a bit of spring cleaning at home today but still have a lot to do.
Val and I were due to meet up today to 'get crafty' but she wasn't feeling well enough to travel so we had to postpone. I hope she feels better soon cos I miss my buddy.
I'm heading to bed for an early night tonight as I didn't sleep very well last night.
Catch ya later folks.

Bumblebees Everywhere
The weather was great today and I managed to get two loads of washing done and dried YIPPEE! It makes such a difference when you can hang the washing outside. When I was hanging it up I heard lots of buzzing from the heather bushes that are growing in the back garden. When I took a closer look there were loads of large bumblebees busy collecting pollen. Normally you see one or two but there were many more than that today. My gran used to call them big 'fuggies' LOL. I don't know if that is a West of Scotland word but I've never heard anyone else use it.
Laura came home for lunch today because she had a biology test in the afternoon and she wanted to do some last minute revision (wonders will never cease). She seems to think that she did okay in the test and I hope that is the case as it may encourage her to study a bit more. She never seems to put any effort into her school work and although she is doing okay, I'm sure she could do a lot better if she tried a bit harder.
I haven't got anything crafty to share today so I must try harder tomorrow LOL.
Till then.

Felt Frenzy
Well I did manage to cut some flowers from my PTI felt and because I only have 2 of the 4 colours I borrowed a couple of bits from Val too. The felt is really good quality and cuts well. I didn't get as far as finishing a card yet but I am working on it LOL. I'm looking forward to getting the new Raspberry Fizz felt later this month.
My cupboards are now restocked so we won't starve anytime soon - thank goodness.
I treated myself to a pretty two tier cake plate but I've also managed to misplace my camera so I can't post a photo until I find it. I also made some carrot muffins today and they are fab (as usual).

New PTI Release
I've ordered (via Lesley) some of the new April PTI releases and now can't wait until they arrive as I have little or no patience LOL. I just love the look of the new yummy Raspberry Fizz felt and the Enjoy the Ride stamp set and matching die. I'm making it my mission today to use some of the felt that I've already bought instead of just taking it out, looking at it, stroking it and then putting it away again.
We'll see! Before I even get to do that I need to go and do some grocery shopping as my fridge is beginning to resemble Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard (I kid you not).
Till later.

Wanna look at my drawers?
Today I made another little drawer set using my trusty Scor-pal and my heart shaped lattice punch from Martha Stewart. This time I used Posie Pink and Bazzill for the outside and the shelf and Fairy Dust Bazzill for the drawers. The brads were from SEI and the buttons are Doodlebug. I've had them in my stash for ages so it was good to eventually use them. I also thought it would be a good idea to make a matching card and gift tag. I hope you like them.
The funeral went well yesterday and the sun was shining brightly all day. It showed off the views of Loch Lomond and the surrounding hills that Bessie saw from her window every day. I think she would have been pleased to see so many of her village friends there to pay their respects.

We Are All Organised ..............
for the funeral tomorrow. I would never have believed that it would have taken so much time to arrange everything and the amount of phoning and running around to be done was incredible. Thankfully we got there in the end and I hope everything will be just as Bessie would have wanted. Fingers crossed for some sunshine too.
Till tomorrow.

King James !!!
Another photo taken on our day out at Scone Palace. Jim was pretending to be crowned the next King of Scotland and he is sitting on the replica of the Stone of Destiny. The girls were having fun and were pretending to kneel in front of him (yeah - like that would ever happen in real life LOL).
Where did the time go this week? I feel that I've never had time to sit down but I can't see that I've achieved anything at home. I have been out and about quite a bit with my mum and helping to organise everything for the funeral this Friday. I'm happy to say the majority of it is now done and I just need to buy myself a new pair of black shoes and I'm all set.
On Saturday I'm cropping with some of my friends so I really do need to find some time to print off some of my recent photographs. Hopefully I will find the time between now and then to do that. Tomorrow I plan to clean my car inside and out because it is beginning to resemble a skip LOL. I use my car for chaffeuring Laura and her friends all over the place and the amount of sweetie papers, plastic bottles and general rubbish that has accumulated is ridiculous so it all needs to go.
It's the new PTI release tonight so I'm off now to check out the sneak peeks and see if there is anything I can't resist.
Till tomorrow.

Baby Project
Today I made a new project using my trusty Scor-pal. The original idea wasn't mine but I did make a few changes to the project as I went along. I also had the opportunity to use my new medium scallop die from PTI to decorate the tag. Inside each drawer there is a little pair of baby socks. I think it would be a nice gift to give to a new mum. My friend Margaret's daughter is expecting a baby boy so she was happy to make this little gift for her daughter.
My friend Lesley popped in today with my most recent PTI order. I ordered the new Hawaiian Shores cardstock, ink, buttons, felt and ribbon together with the mini book stamp set and tab die. I am delighted with all of them and can't wait to try them out. This month I think I would like the rick rack die and maybe the beautiful blooms stamps and dies if I can afford them.
My friend Val also dropped in today, she has been looking after her grandson (Jack) since Thursday morning as her daughter is off for a little break so I haven't seen her at all this weekend so it was good to catch up and eat some chocolate. Thank you Lesley for the Freddos! They were fab - yes both of them (blush).

Back Home
We made it home this afternoon and spent some time with mum talking over the arrangements for my Great Aunt Bessies' funeral. It will be next Friday morning in the little church at Gartocharn then over to Cardross Crematorium. We've still to arrange somewhere to have something to eat afterwards but it will probably be at one of our local restaurants.
I've been busy downloading some of the photos I took during the week and I thought I'd post this one of Jim, Laura and Jenny feeding some of Hazel's horses. The big one is called Max and he was definitely the boss LOL. The one on the left is Sky and the one on the right is called Crunchie (I think).
I'll be back tomorrow with some more photos.
Till then.

Sad News
This afternoon my mum phoned to tell me that my great aunt has passed away. She was really quite ill and had been in hospital for the last couple of weeks. I popped in to see her on Thursday before we left for our Easter break in Perth and she actually looked better than she did previously. She seemed to be a tiny bit better every day so her passing today was a bit of a shock. We are still on holiday but will be heading back home tomorrow to help mum with the funeral arrangements.
We spent the day at Scone Palace and enjoyed roaming around in the fresh air. Here are a couple of photos of the Laura and Jenny in the Murray Star Maze. Jim and I laughed so hard because the girls found their way to the centre of the maze and back out again in record time. We, on the other hand were lost for about 40 minutes and couldn't even find the centre until Laura led us to it and then we couldn't find the way out for ages.

A Quick Post
We made it safely to South Littleton Farm and have spent the past few days chilling. Last night I brought out the decopatch stuff and we spent a couple of hours tearing and glueing. Today was wet and miserable and we intended to go shopping then go to the movies. Unfortunately poor Jenny got travel sick and threw up all over the place so we changed our plans and we will be going to see Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang tomorrow instead. The girls have also checked out the swimming pool in Perth and the flumes look fabulous so they are desperate to try them out. Looks like tomorrow will be a busy day. Till then.

The Sun is Shining ....................
but how long will it last??? That is the question I would like answered. I've got some washing that I'd like to put out but I don't think the rain is too far away and I may be wasting my time hanging it all up. We'll see what happens.
Jim is working today and I will be packing for our holiday break at South Littleton Farm near Blairgowrie. Laura has asked her friend Jenny to come along to keep her company and we are all looking forward to chilling out. We are leaving later this afternoon so I'd better get my skates on LOL.

Easter Blog Candy
Hi folks, Sorry I've been a bit busy this week and my blogging has been sorely neglected (hangs head in shame LOL). In order to make it up to you I will be giving away some more blog candy soon. Tomorrow I'll post details of the prize and what you need to do to be in with a chance of winning.
I went to the hospital to visit Aunt Bessie again today, we are going off on holiday for a week tomorrow and I thought I'd visit her again before we left. She was still very jaundiced but is looking a wee bit better than she was earlier in the week.
Till later.
