L - R Jan, Rebecca, Sophie, Laura & Lynne
Well I've had a busy night keeping an eye on Laura and her friends Sophie and Rebecca while they were out trick or treating. We also called in to see my nieces (Lynne 21 & Jan 26) who were having a Halloween Party before going out to a nightclub. Their costumes all looked fantastic and the girls were all dressed as tigers with poems on the back that included their names e.g Alkie Ashleigh, Snakehips Steph etc and they were looking forward to having fun. A couple of the guys were dressed as the Supermario Brothers Mario and Luigi and another was one of the puppets from Thunderbirds - their costumes were fab.
The girls had a whale of a time and carted home lots of loot. Sophie is staying over tonight and they have been up and downstairs umpteen times for juice, crisps, sweets, etc. Let's hope they go to sleep before 4am this time and more importantly that they are not sick LOL.
Till tomorrow - happy haunting.

Sad Day - Many Happy Memories
Today was the 10th Anniversary of the death of my stepfather. I phoned my mum to arrange to take her up to the cemetery because she doesn't really like going up there alone and I thought she would welcome some company today. We headed up around 2pm and you would not believe the wind and the rain. The cemetery is high up on the hill above Alexandria and it is very exposed so we didn't wait around very long. I had bought some flowers in nice autumn shades and Laura wrote a message on the card to her Papa (which had me blinking back the tears). We have lots of happy memories and often talk about him when we are together which I think is nice.
On a happier note Jim and I went to a Race Night tonight and had a really good time. It was organised by the School Parent Council and we enjoyed betting on the races and shouting encouragement to our horses. I phoned home a few times to ask Laura to choose a horse so that she didn't feel left out. She was lucky enough to win in the very first race. We had just gone along ourselves and a group of people kindly asked us to join their table and they were so nice and welcoming it made a very pleasant evening.
I'd better get to bed now before I turn into a pumpkin LOL.
Till later.

Relaxation Time
I treated myself to a massage at my local beauty salon today. It was fab and just exactly what I needed to help restore my equilibrium (oooh good word for this time on a Thursday evening eh?)
I then had to pick Laura up from school and whizz over to Braehead to buy her a new pair or trainers as she has managed to detach the sole from one of hers. She then went off to the Youth Club for a couple of hours and I just sat and chilled - fantastic. I really could do with a couple of days like this but I have no chance.
As the weather was so horrible today I couldn't get the washing dried so I eventually put it over the radiators indoors. At least I didn't have to do the ironing but it only puts off the evil day LOL.
More tomorrow.

I Hate Ironing
..... but it has got to be done I suppose LOL. Today I tackled a monster pile of ironing which I had foolishly let pile up - never again I promise. No sooner than I had it cleared I put on two loads of washing so no prizes for guessing what I will need to do again tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to squeeze in some time to do a little crafting tomorrow (fingers crossed).
I watched a programme on the life of Jackie Onassis tonight - it was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's been quite a while since I've been able to sit for a couple of hours and watch tv but tonight I managed to do just that - hooray!

Madness!
Tuesday evenings are always busy in our house nowadays. Laura has netball practice straight after school, we then head out to Dominos for takeaway pizza, home to eat it, then she is off to help at the local Rainbow Group, back home again to do gazillions of homework, shower, hair washing and drying and eventually ...................... bed. Whew I'm exhausted just writing all that LOL. Tonight I had some time to myself and popped along to a jewellery party. I didn't buy any jewellery but my Mum bought me a beautiful turquoise pashmina and I bought a lovely beaded evening bag. All I need to do now is to find somewhere to go to show it off LOL.
I have uploaded another layout that I did recently. The photo is 4 years old and was taken during a trip to the Glasgow Science Centre it was waaaay overdue to be scrapped. The paper is from the Ooh La La range by My Minds Eye - I hope you like it.

Christmas Card
Here is a card I designed for a recent Christmas Card Workshop using Adornit papers and Bazzill Cardstock and my Cuttlebug Birds & Swirls Embossing Folder (I love this folder). The image is by Stampendous and is one of their new range of cling stamps. When this range first came out I didn't quite get it that you affixed the stamp to an acrylic block using the cling which is attached to the stamp. Thicko here tried to peel it off and stick it to the block and wondered why it wouldn't stick DOH!!! Well I never claimed to be the most intelligent person on earth LOL.
Today I tried to catch up with some washing and ironing - I really don't know where all the washing comes from in this house as my laundry baskets are never empty. I did manage to get some washing out today and it stayed dry which was fantastic so more ironing tomorrow I guess LOL.
Till tomorrow.

Planning A Getaway
I had a nice day today crafting with friends. The Scor-pal class went well and everyone loved the fold out stationery box that we made. We used one of my favourite paper ranges (Manhattan from Autumn Leaves). I have posted a photo of another scrapbook page that I managed to do earlier in the week. The photo is one of my all time favourites and it was taken whilst on holiday in Majorca a couple of years ago. I hope you like it too. The paper is Basic Grey (shock horror!!!), the chipboard frame is by Technique Tuesday and the ribbon is from PTI. I brought back some of these chipboard frames from Florida last year and this is only the second one I've used. Something tells me I have too much stash when I've only just got around to using these LOL.
I've spent this evening trying to sort out a Halloween costume for Laura for next week. She wants to go out trick or treating with friends on Saturday evening and I've agreed to let her go on the condition that I drive them around and wait in the car at the end of the street. She was not overly happy about that but hey I'd rather play safe. She also has a Guide Halloween Party next Monday evening and would like to wear a different outfit (no pressure LOL).

SECC - What A Disappointment
I went along to the Craft Show at the SECC yesterday just to see if there was anything new that I couldn't live without. Surprise, surprise, there wasn't! I was very disappointed in the show and the quality of stuff on sale. It seems to be going downhill every year and I'm glad we don't do it anymore. There was one stand that was selling end of range scrapbooking stuff at good prices but there was very little else of much interest to me. I also grudge being charged £6.70 to get in then have to pay £5 to use the car park - daylight robbery methinks LOL.
Here is one of the pages from the little 8" x 8" scrapbook I made earlier in the week. I used mainly black and white photos for this album because I think it goes well with the SEI Grandpa's Attic paper range. I hope you like it - Laura looks soooo cute.
Last night we went to the Church Beetle Drive and what a laugh we had. We took Laura's friends (Sophie & Jenny) with us and we all had a ball. The girls were delighted to win prizes for their efforts and we also managed to win a couple of prizes in the raffle - result!
Tomorrow I have a Scor-pal class and then I hope to do some more scrapping (well that is the plan anyway).
Till then.

Missing in Action
Apologies for not blogging for a couple of days but domestic life got in the way LOL. Although I did manage to make up two SEI 8" x 8" Scrapbook in a Bag Kits. One of these is for DH and the other is for Laura as part of their Christmas. I was really pleased with them and I just need to look out some photos tonight and I will share a few pages later. Fee x

Ricky Was Robbed
I'm fizzing mad at the X-Factor results tonight - there is no way that Ricky should have gone. I really do feel that he gave the better performance at the Sing Off. I can't understand how John & Edward are still hanging on as they really are tone deaf LOL.
Anyway, I had a lovely day today hanging out with good friends, laughing, making cards and eating biscuits - fantastic. The card posted above was designed and made by my BF Valerie Jane Moffat for The Papercraft Company. These hedgehogs are really cute and we do love Penny Black stamps. I hope you like the card.
Till tomorrow.

Get Well Soon Val
My BF Val is feeling poorly today and as we usually get together at the weekends I missed her being around today (and her cheek too LOL). Seriously though I hope you are feeling better tonight Val.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to be able to do some more Christmas Cards as I've got quite a few PTI and Stamping Up Christmas stamps that haven't seen an inkpad yet. Wish me luck.
Tonight we are having a lazy evening watching X-Factor and munching (nothing new there!) I hope that John and Edward go out tonight they are terrible. I'm not sure they actually will go out cos the public may just vote them in to annoy Simon, especially as he was soooooo mean to Cheryl tonight.
Roll on tomorrow - until then.

Patiently Waiting
Well OK perhaps patiently is not the word but I am waiting with bated breath for the new PTI October release tonight at 10pm EST. I've tried to wait up a few time but always fall asleep before the release party gets started. To try and get around this I had a few hours sleep earlier this evening and here I am blogging at 3am LOL. Just gotta keep awake.
I made a card today using My Little Yellow Bicycle papers and one of my favourite Unity stamp sets Wild and Crazy Bunch - I hope you like it. Remind me not to post as late as this again as I uploaded the wrong photo. The blue/green card above is made from the same Unity set and was made for The Papercraft Company by Karen Watson. My card is the yellow/white and orange one and I have used the same image but the papers are from the Baby Girl Safari range from My Little Bicycle . I love these papers and I hope you like the cards.

Trouble Scrapping with Prima
My scrapping style is very clean cut and every so often I try to push back the boundaries and do something shabby chic or inky (which is right out of my comfort zone). I tried to do this on Sunday and failed - miserably LOL! I had bought some gorgeous Prima paper and flowers and I was determined to work with them. The first attempt went in the bin cos I just wasn't pleased with the result. The second page I liked better probably because there wasn't a ripped or torn inky piece of paper anywhere LOL. Here is the result - I hope you like it. Paper is from Prima's Flirty range. Flourish Stamps are from Autumn Leaves and the heart I love you stamp is from Prima. I used my threading water punch too (about time I hear you say) and I placed some little blue pearls in the holes under the photo.
Till later.

My Little Devil & Friends
Left to Right: Jenny, Rebecca, Laura & Sophie (the broken arm is real and not a costume).
The girls had great fun at the disco last night and they were all exhausted after dancing for three and a half hours. It was home and straight to bed and Laura was sleeping within five minutes LOL.
Today my excitement was a delivery of my PTI goodies. I treated myself to the new Perfect Poinsetta set of Christmas stamps and I can't wait to play with them tomorrow. I also bought some new inkpads, ribbons, buttons and cardstock (naughty I know - but they are gorgeous).

A Halloween Disco - it's only 7th October!
Laura came home from school today and announced that her school Halloween Disco is tomorrow evening. It seems a bit early to me but hey ho I hope they have fun. Luckily we had already organised her costume and she will be dressing up as a devil (there's typecasting for you LOL). I spent this afternoon stamping up some clear plastic food bags and Laura filled them with some sweets to give to her friends so we are all set.
My BF Val came down to visit today and we had quite a productive day. Val was working on one of her lovely shaped minibooks. I made 25 of the 90th birthday party invitations that I said I would make for my mum. Only another 10 to do and that will be me finished. I'll probably not get around to doing the rest until Friday or Saturday though as I'm out all day tomorrow.
Till tomorrow.

I wasn't happy with the invitation I did for my Mum's Guild 90th Birthday invitation. The logo that I downloaded from the web wasn't as sharp as I would have liked and it was very plain cos I will have to make about 40 of them asap. I spent this afternoon coming up with an alternative and gave them both to her for her meeting tonight so that the ladies can choose which one they prefer.
Laura decided that she wanted to volunteer as a helper at Rainbows and tonight was her first night. She was a little bit apprehensive about going but when I picked her up she had thoroughly enjoyed herself. She is growing up so fast and is now making decisions about what she wants to do and then she just goes ahead and organises things. She has also volunteered to help at the church holiday club next week and the first I knew about it was when I got a call from the Minister to say that they would love to have her LOL.
Here is another card that I did today - I hope you like it. The paper is Autumn Leaves and the stamp if from a Stamping Up set I purchased last year. I used versamark and gold embossing powder then heat embossed the image.
I'm looking forward to scrapping with my BF Val tomorrow. Since I stopped working we try to sneak in a wee day scrapping or card making on a regular basis.
Until tomorrow.

Not so beautiful Loch Lomond
The photo above is of Loch Lomond taken from just off the shore at Luss village on a not so sunny day. Doesn't the sky look threatening? The loch looks so beautiful when then sun is shining but not in this photo LOL.
I've been trying to scrap today but haven't managed to finish a layout yet - I hope I can manage to complete it tomorrow.
I was a bit naughty tonight and I didn't go to my sewing class, I just didn't feel like going so I thought I would play hookey just this once. Let's hope this isn't the beginning of a slippery slope LOL.
Till tomorrow.

Birthday Layout
I had a good time today with some friends, cropping, chatting and scoffing cakes - a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I also managed to complete one layout - yes I know that is not much for a whole afternoon but I had problems with my sewing machine. Luckily for me three of my friends have more of a clue about sewing machines and they all tried to help. However, it was Roberta that finally figured out what was wrong and I now need to get a new needle. It was high time I scrapped these photos as Laura's birthday was in May.
Papers are from My Mind's Eye Tiny Dancer Range, words stamped using Autumn Leaves Alphabet, Sweetwater Rub-ons and Prima Pearls.
Hope you like it.

Where Did September Go?
I can't believe that it's 1st October already, September has flown by so fast and before we know it it will be Christmas. Before we get there we still have Halloween and Bonfire Night to get through LOL. I decided that I would make some little Halloween goody bags for our trick or treaters and I bought some sweets today so that I'm ready to get cracking tomorrow.
Here is today's card. The background paper is Chatterbox with a strip of Heather Bazzill which was embossed in the Cuttlebug using the divine swirls embossing folder. The image is Cosmobella and she is coloured using Copic markers. Isn't she fab?
Until tomorrow.
